Books about How Cars Suck

To further along my new obsession with bitching about cars, I've started looking for books on the topic. So far I've found just this one:

Asphalt Nation: How the Automobile Took over America, and How We Can Take It Back.

It seems to be addressing just the issue of traffic.

I realize that the tone of the entries I've written so far is pretty naive... my point is to get into a mindset that acknowledges that the way we get around now is fucked up. Not to put too fine a point on it.

I realize that streets aren't going anywhere, and that reorganizing transportation has as much to do with urban planning, politics, and miserably unavoidable laws of nature such Braess' Paradox, as it has to do with technology.

So I hear you asking, "If you're so worried about high-speed auto-accidents, then you must be very happy about gridlock, right?"

No, of course not. It's just, think about what most cars do for the great majority of their lives: they park.

That's just dumb.
